Golden Assisted Transportation (“GAT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a family-owned, private-pay Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) and assisted mobility service operating in the Kansas City Metro area. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to goldenassistedtransportation.com, our booking and contact forms, our Facebook Page and Instagram account, and phone, text, and email communication with us.

By using our website, booking a ride, or contacting us, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you give us directly

When you book a ride, request a quote, or contact us, we may collect:

Identity and contact details: your name, the passenger’s name, phone number, email address.

Trip details: pickup address, drop-off address, date and time, one-way or round trip, destination facility name.

Mobility and accommodation details: whether the passenger is ambulatory or uses a wheelchair, whether driver assistance is needed, and any special instructions you choose to share so we can transport the passenger safely.

Caregiver or family contact details when a family member, care coordinator, or facility books on a passenger’s behalf.

Payment information. We are a private-pay service. Payment card details are processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our systems.

You choose what to tell us. Please share only the health or mobility information we actually need to perform the ride safely.

1.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we and our service providers may automatically collect IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system; pages viewed, links clicked, referring page, and time spent on the site; and cookies and similar technologies.

1.3 Information from social media platforms

We maintain a Facebook Page and an Instagram account. When you interact with us there, Meta Platforms, Inc. provides us with information according to Meta’s own policies. This can include your public profile name, your handle, the content of messages you send us, and aggregated, de-identified statistics about how our posts perform.

We do not receive your password, your private friend list, or your private posts. We do not identify individual people from Meta’s aggregate insights reporting.

1.4 What we do not collect

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We do not buy or ingest lists of personal data from data brokers.

We do not accept Medicaid, Medicare, or brokered rides, so we do not collect insurance member IDs or claims data for those programs.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

Schedule, confirm, perform, and follow up on your ride, including recurring appointment scheduling.

Assign an appropriately equipped vehicle and a driver prepared for the passenger’s mobility needs.

Communicate with you about pickup times, delays, driver arrival, and changes to a booking.

Coordinate with a hospital, clinic, dialysis center, or care facility when you or the passenger has asked us to, for the limited purpose of completing the ride.

Quote, invoice, and collect payment for services.

Respond to questions, requests, complaints, and reviews.

Maintain the safety and security of passengers, drivers, and vehicles, and keep records required for insurance and licensing.

Improve our website, our services, and our marketing.

Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

2.1 Marketing and social media

We publish marketing content on Facebook and Instagram. We use platform-provided aggregate performance data to decide what content to publish. We never publish a passenger’s name, image, likeness, health condition, address, or trip details in marketing content without that person’s separate, express, written permission. Testimonials are published only with permission and may be anonymized at the reviewer’s request.

3. Health-related information

Some information you share with us, such as the fact that a passenger is going to dialysis or a cancer treatment appointment, is sensitive. We treat it that way.

We use it only to perform the ride safely and on time.

We limit access to the staff and drivers who need it for that trip.

We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising or audience targeting.

Golden Assisted Transportation is a private-pay transportation provider, not a healthcare provider or health plan. Where we perform services for a HIPAA-covered facility under a written agreement, we handle protected health information according to that agreement and applicable law.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade it. We share it only in these situations:

Who

Why

Our drivers and staff

To perform your ride.

Service providers

Scheduling and dispatch software, payment processing, website hosting, email and SMS delivery, cloud storage, and analytics.

Healthcare or care facilities

Only at your request or the passenger’s request, and only to coordinate a specific ride.

Family members or authorized caregivers

When they are the booking party, or when the passenger has authorized it.

Meta Platforms, legal and safety, or business transfer

When you interact with our Page; when required by law or needed for safety; or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

5. Text messages and calls

If you give us your phone number, you agree that we may call or text you about your ride: confirmations, driver arrival, delays, and scheduling. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out of non-essential messages. Opting out of marketing texts does not stop transactional messages about a ride you have booked, because we need those to serve you safely.

6. Cookies and website analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the site.

Essential cookies are required for the site and booking form to function.

Analytics cookies help us see which pages are useful, in aggregate.

Advertising cookies and pixels, if used, help us measure the performance of our Facebook and Instagram advertising.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies may break the booking form. Our site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, because no common standard for them has been adopted.

7. How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including access controls that limit trip and passenger information to the people who need it, encrypted transmission on our website, and reputable third-party providers for payments and storage.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the appropriate authorities of a breach affecting your personal information as required by law.

8. How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as we need it:

Trip and booking records: for the period required by our insurance carrier, state transportation regulations, and tax law.

Payment records: as required by tax and accounting rules.

Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Website analytics: in aggregate, on a rolling basis.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it.

9. Your rights and choices

You may, at any time:

Access the personal information we hold about you.

Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.

Delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law, such as completed-trip and payment records.

Opt out of marketing emails or marketing texts.

Withdraw permission you previously gave us to use a testimonial, photo, or review.

To exercise any of these, contact us using Section 11. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

Missouri and Kansas residents: these rights are offered to all our passengers and website visitors as a matter of policy, regardless of state of residence.

10. Data deletion instructions

To request deletion of the data we hold about you, including data we received through our Facebook Page or Instagram account:

Email info@goldenassistedtransportation.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request.”

Include the name, phone number, or email address associated with your bookings, and your Facebook or Instagram handle if your request concerns social media.

We will confirm receipt and complete the deletion within 30 days.

You may also call 816-500-9090 to make the request by phone.

Note that we must retain certain completed-trip, insurance, and payment records for the period required by law. We will delete everything not covered by those obligations and tell you what was retained and why.

To remove GAT’s access to your data on the Meta side, you can also visit Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites and remove our application.

11. Children’s privacy

Our services are directed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where a minor is transported, the booking, consent, and all information come from a parent, legal guardian, or authorized facility. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Third-party links

Our website and social media posts may link to other sites, such as a clinic, a review platform, or a payment page. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we do not operate. Review their policies before providing information.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes will be posted prominently on our website. Continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
