Door-to-door rides for Independence seniors

Independence is one of the communities we put first. Golden Assisted Transportation is a family-owned, private-pay service on the Missouri side of the metro, and we help passengers from inside their home, into our wheelchair-accessible van, and into their destination.

Hospitals and appointments

We can take you to Centerpoint Medical Center on E 39th Street S, doctor and specialist offices around town, and hospitals in Blue Springs, Lee’s Summit and across Kansas City.

Dialysis on a standing schedule

Independence has dialysis clinics near Centerpoint, on S Claremont Avenue and on E Valley View Parkway. Tell us the treatment days and times once and we keep the same pickup on the calendar every week.

Errands, outings and the Palmer Center

Groceries, the pharmacy, church, a program at the Palmer Center (the city’s senior center on N Pleasant Street), or an afternoon at the Truman Library or the Truman Home with visiting family. The everyday trips matter too.

Trips into Kansas City and to the airport

Specialist visits downtown, treatment at the larger Kansas City hospitals, or a flight out of MCI: we handle the drive door-to-door, so nobody has to find parking or push a wheelchair across a garage.

Who we drive

Walking passengers who want a steady arm, manual and power wheelchair users, bariatric passengers, and anyone who needs a stair chair to get down the front steps.
